Snorkeling on Maui should not be missed. Maui has incredible snorkeling areas along several of its coastlines. Snorkeling beaches are marked on the Maui driving map. You may find descriptions of several snorkeling areas on Auntie Snorkel website. You can also find descriptions of beaches on Maui Beaches website.

Snorkeling on Lanai island is a whole day tour to Lanai beach. It is a pretty good snorkeling spot, and the trip itself is an exciting wildlife-watching experience. We saw dolphins playing and whales diving on the way to and from Lanai. To complete the day an excursion into Lanai City is offered.

The submerged crater of Molokini makes for a lovely half day snorkeling tour.  You can dive right from the boat into crystal clear blue water. Some of the boats even visit 'Turtle Town' on the return trip.

Honolua-Mokuleia Conservation District, located 3 miles north of Kahana Sunset on Highway 30, has two great snorkeling areas. One is on a sandy beach and the other is on a smooth-rock beach. Surf may be a problem so the best snorkeling is in the morning.
